Thanksgiving all across Texas.
Thanksgiving has come and gone. I still don't have a car. What's that, you say? Well here's the scoop.
Amanda and I were heading to my parent's in Austin Thursday morning. It was all so beautifully orchestrated - no traffic, as the night before was horrendous, pet's sleeping quietly in the car, the dog *and* cat, car started like a champ for the past 2 months, my pathfinder has had it's problems. Then the pathfinder went berzerk.
Long story short, we were stranded on the side of Highway 47 in College Station on Thanksgiving, with two pets, two sets of golf clubs and a weekends worth of luggage while the car needed a new alternator and battery. Of course, not an auto shop in the world - make that America, thanks to Drew's insight - is open on Thanksgiving. Thankfully, my parents were able to come and get us.
Turkey day proceeded without a hitch after that, and we even managed to forget completely about the car until the next morning.
That next morning, Friday, I called Midas who had installed an alternator in Houston 2 months earlier - I should still be under a limited 90 day warranty. Many phone calls, 2 tow trucks - the first broke done, debates over pricing, and 1 deal between the Houston and College Station Midas shop later we are waiting on an alternator to be delivered to the CS shop. This is Saturday morning. We'll be heading over to pick up the car when it's ready, assuming that happens.
It's probably about time to look for that new car - it's hard to let an old friend go though.

Blogger's Block
So, I've finally decided to try my luck at my very own weBlog. What to write about? What will someone find interesting? Where to host? Ahh....
I've had quite the case of blogger's block, and therefore have decided to just type. Just babble here in the beginning and hope inspiration strikes. Of course I've chosen to utilize this free service from blogger as recommended by my good buddy Crazy Drew. I've got my own domain, run e-mail and a photo album over at www.matoushek.com, but thought this would save me some headache [this is my second time typing this as blogger's engineers are fixing something, hope it doesn't continue giving me trouble (: ].
Anywho, about the blogger's block. Any cures out there? Who knows? As for me, I picked up Prisoner of Azkaban this morning on DVD, so that's exciting. And I've recently dug into Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, for the second time -- man I love that book.
Peace out Yo's! Happy Hacking.
Blogger's Block
So, I've been wanting to start my very own weBlog for quite some time now. What to write about.? What will someone find interesting? Where to host? Ahhh...
So, I've decided to just start babbling here on blogger and getting it over with. I've got a photo album over at www.matoushek.com that has been up for quite some time, and I'm hosting my e-mail there etc., but I thought I'd try a free service like www.blogger.com. Saves me some of the headache. Plus, my good buddy ol crazy Drew uses this service.
At any rate. I just picked up The Prisoner of Azkaban on DVD this morning, so that's exciting.
Peace out Yo's! Happy Hacking. I'll keep the blogs coming.
